Gladstone Gathering Grounds

Papa kept on saying, "Don't they know it's June up here?" It was chilly!

Working!
Working!

Working!
Working! Working!

Sue Z. and her mom heading down to the lake early Monday morning.
Scott and I were able to spend Sunday night at the beautiful camp. This is a 12-plex, 6 rooms on top and 6 rooms on the bottom. This is the scene we woke up to on Monday morning.
This is the lodge where the group ate and where Mama, Papa and Seth stayed. I'll post later when I get other pics, but Seth really turned into a frontiersman! He helped skin a beaver that kept doing damage to their lake.

Beautiful Canada

We saw many rainbows.
We had a hard time convincing Mama Ward that that was snow covered mountains in the horizon. She said that was "just clouds". Click on the picture to get a closer look at the beautiful Canadian Rockies.

Calgary Tower

No, this isn't the beaver that he skinned.

With a little coaxing, Papa walked out on the glass floor.

One of the Native Churches

Their offering plate.
The fellowship was so special!

Scott's Friend - Dan and his ministry

Coming into Dan and Deanna's home!
Dan's pictorial display (Journey Wall) of his years in Canada.
Jacob, Dan, Deanna and Jon - I told them I would say the teepee in the background is their home. Thank you for hosting our group. The Lord is using you mightily!

Congrats, LeighAnna!

We heard the shout all the way in Canada. Leigh Anna has made it into Nursing School! Praise the Lord - She is such a hard worker!

I believe she was able to make contact with Mama and Papa Ward. We talked to them right before we got Leigh Anna's call and they said things were going great. They told us Seth and Chris (our resident electrician) had dug a huge hole, cut and skinned a tall tree and place it in the hole for an electric pole. Mama Ward said Seth was really working hard. This was Tuesday and she said she had made Chicken Pie for everyone! We were not able to talk long, so we can't wait to meet up with them on tomorrow (Friday) and hear all about it.

We're in Canada!

We have made it and it is gorgeous. All the flights went well. The team is at the camp working and it is beautiful. The team wakes up to a view of the snow covered Rockies. Also a herd of buffalo graze below the lodge. We have been instructed to take "Bear Spray" whenever we go to certain areas. The lodge where they eat their meals and where Mama and Papa Ward and Seth are staying has that beautiful view also. Scott and I left them (Monday) and are with Dan and Deanna our friends/Missionaries in Calgary. We plan to visit some Native pastors and meet back with the team on Friday. We were able to eat Mama and Papa's first meal of Taco Soup on Monday at lunch. Can't wait to tell you all about it and show pictures! God has blessed us with a wonderful trip.

Pictures to follow!

Voting Day

It's official - Mama and Papa voted in Alabama yesterday!

Papa's Garden

These are his first fruits.

The blackberries are full. They should be ripe in a week or two.

Hudson's first plane ride

John was so sweet to agree to bring Hudson with him on the plane and they drove back with us. David and Emily had a wedding in B'ham and needed a sitter - Grammy will do anything for that!
We thought Hudson might have thought Melanie was his mother - they resemble each other quite a bit!

Back home in the Rocket City! And yes, he rode safely in his carseat. He was the best little traveler!

Renstrom Retreat

It was a good black snake - all is welcomed!

A Visit to Ward Tank

Meeting Halfway to see the Great Granddaughters!

Daniel and Adam's family live in Raleigh so we met halfway in Greensboro on Thursday night and Mama and Papa got to see their precious great granddaughters. Both families are expecting a new little one with Dan & Danielle's due any time now!

Treacy's Graduation

Basket made by Papa Ward - Congratulations, Treacy, We are so proud of you!
