Do you think Hudson looks like his daddy?

Sandra, David and Papa - August 1, 1982 (I'll work on making this pic bigger - first one I've scanned and used)

Sandra, Hudson and Papa - May 25, 2008

Look who stopped by!

Gypsy was in town. She came to see her grandson, the St. John's youngest, graduate valedictorian of his class. (On purpose I don't use first and last names)
Papa's thornless blackberry plant is loaded!
And yes, that is a baby squash!

OK, Grandson time!

"B" was swinging JDP!

Grammy bought these little chairs and we had to "stage" a picture because they don't sit usually for very long. JDP is usually playing ball in our backyard.

Hudson has 2 little bottom teeth!

Special Friends

Joe and Alice had some "salmon" iris' for Mom and Dad.
Our spring Bible Study, "The Power of a Praying Wife" ended with a covered dish this week. May God continue to use it in our lives.

Summer Fun

We have enjoyed the local strawberries! Mom made jelly and jam all day yesterday - not to mention the many pies she has already made.

Mom was so excited - she could donate blood, usually her iron is too low. She said it must have been those fresh turnip greens she had eaten the day before!
Dad's O negative blood is always welcomed!
We had to raise the bird feeder, the foliage around was getting too tall.

John's Graduation

There were 4800 graduates!

Yes, Chuck Norris, "Walker Texas Ranger", was the speaker!

With Jonathan Falwell
Mel's Family
John's Family

These were John's roommates - a special bunch of fellas!

John David's 2nd Birthday!

Isn't this just the sweetest picture? John David is blessed with many friends! He loved playing with the baseball players on his cake. I think that was his favorite!
Of course, Hudson, always has a smile to share.

David and Emily planned a sweet "little" party. John David has so many special little buddies! Emily had JDP hug all his friends after he would open up their gift. They are such wonderful parents!
The more the merrier!

What a sweet big brother! He gave Hudson his first ride down the slide. It is so much fun observing Hudson watching his big brother. You can see how he is already trying to keep up with him. When he walks by Hudson, Hudson's little eyes will just follow JDP!
The boys are enjoying their swing/fort. May they have many years of enjoyment!

Surprise Visit!

Uncle Donnie and Aunt Eleanor came by one Sunday afternoon - they were on their way back from the Kentucky Derby. This is the first time they have seen Mama and Papa's place! It was such a great surprise!

Scott is 50!!!

Some sweet friends took Scott out for his birthday to "Grandmother's House". Thanks, you guys, - what a fun evening!
This was sitting in our yard! Birthday surprises everywhere!

I ordered 100 beach balls with a special message and gave them out before our Sunday evening service. (This was my only pic of the night - thanks Taylor for posing - actually he and some other guys brought them all in!)
And yes, while the girls were in Florida we did a special birthday message to Scott. It is one of those 1 time showings. The video is sealed - never to be shown again! (The "munchkins" costumes were from Sharon's Wizard of OZ collection)
