Watch Hudson!

This is Hudson the morning he was leaving to go to NC! This is so precious! Sorry the quality of the pic is not good, but you can see that little hand waving! You can hear John David and Pops in the background!

The Boys

Emily and the boys headed to Greensboro this morning to visit her family. Scott and I went over before they left to see the boys. John David was so excited I couldn't get him to be still for a picture. Emily said during the trip she would ask if he wanted to stop and he would say, "No, Grandpa's house" - He is a genius! They had a good trip. Hudson is waving and saying - Bye-Bye - he is so precious!

Silverthorne House

This is nothing but work. David & John have bought this house and plan to fix it up and sell it. It had cracked white tile throughout the house except the bedrooms and they are taking that up and putting down hardwoods. All 3 baths have wallpaper that needs to come down. Nothing but work. Mama Ward is the foreman!

Back to Basket Class

After taking the summer off (our teacher had 2 grandchildren born), we have begun building up our inventory now. Papa's baskets are still so much more precise than Mama Ward's or mine. It's that engineer in him!

Mama & Papa's trip to Kentucky

The Primetimers from church made an overnight trip to Kentucky and it was very close to Bennett & Jeane, Papa's Army buddy. So they worked it to go by an pick them up at their house.

The highlight was seeing The Musical - Stephen Foster - Celebrating 50 years, but of course, being with their special friends was a highlight also! (Mom did well in taking these pics, didn't she?)

Papa and Mama Ward just planted these seeds 6 days ago and look at them! They will return from FL on Wednesday. I wanted them to see what's "growing" on!

Another Beautiful Bride!

No, this isn't the bride, but Natalie, I thought of you! Isn't this just too cute?

On the Road Again!

Today with Sharon's suggestion, Mama and Papa decided to fly to Clearwater tomorrow. Sharon got to thinking that her school year will start in about 1 1/2 weeks and she wanted to see if they could come for a visit. We did a little switching of things and booked them. David will drive them to Chattanooga on his way to Pigeon Forge where the rest of his family is with Emily's family. This a great flight for them because it is straight from Chattanooga to Clearwater - a little over an hour in the air! Sharon has been wanting them to try this - because it is such a good fit for them! So they are packing their swimsuit and headed to the beach for a week!

Fall Garden

This evening Mama and Papa plowed up a spot in their garden and planted from seed some squash and bush beans. We should have them in 40 days! We have thoroughly enjoyed the delicious tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, zucchini and blackberries. That little spot is thriving!

Tuesday at HarborChase

Today, August 5th is Jim's birthday. We celebrated with the family on Sunday. Scott and I went by today and he was sitting at his favorite spot - where he can see out a window. They had 4 balloons tied to his chair. We are so grateful to HarborChase and his caregivers.
We took him some Maple Nut Goodies, his second favorite candy, with peppermints his top!

New Raleigh Friends

This sweet couple are friends of Dan and Adam's families in Raleigh. They have just moved to Huntsville. We told Carlos when you live in Alabama you have to decide - pull for Alabama or Auburn? So we helped him decide and made him hold an elephant - hence the discussion began about Alabama's mascot - Crimson Tide - Elephants - Hard to explain - really doesn't make sense. Emily and Mary Beth are both from Greensboro!

Blessed Wedding

Scott thoroughly enjoyed working/pre marital counseling with Meg and Wes. Their wedding was so special! They are students at UA - Roll Tide! May the Lord continue to use them for His glory!
Take a look at the Groom's cake - Turner Field, Atlanta Braves!
