WHBC Fall Festival

Of course, you have Spider Man and Spider Web! Spider Mommy is quite creative!

Hudson and Gigi snuck off to the nursery. It was quite overwhelming for all Spider Webs!

Spider Man was a little overwhelmed with this slide, as you can see, he buried his head at the end and was starting to cry until he was rescued!

Uncle Jimmy is in town

Veggie Tales - "God Made You Special"

We took the boys to see Veggie Tales. Emily's parents were in town so they were able to join us. What a treat! That is Grandma and Grandpa Luttrell.

I turn away and try to get the boys expressions, but you can't see it!

More Washington pics

Before I move on, I wanted to show you some more pictures of our trip. Washington was so beautiful. The weather was perfect. Scott and I just spent the day (Saturday), so we tried to see as much as we could.
This at the Changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This was awesome!

Look who I "ran" into!

Sunday - Receiving the Flag back in Huntsville, AL

Everyone was there in our family, except John. He was in Charlotte visiting Mel and her family. They recognized us (Scott, Sandra, Seth, David, Emily, John David, Hudson, Mama and Papa Ward) and we all walked up to receive the flag. I didn't get any pictures of that, but afterwards I asked for this picture. Truly it was a weekend, Scott and I will never forget - it was such an honor! James Gossett truly was a HERO!

Saturday - Presenting it at the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC

This is Scott and I actually walking with the Honor Guard and presenting the flag to the Memorial.
A local television reporter interviewed Scott.

Dave R., the man (WHBC youth pastor) that led Scott to the Lord pastors a church in Alexandria, VA. He was kind to pick us up at the airport Friday night and we stayed with him and his wife, Linda, and then he went with us on Saturday morning. Thank you, Dave!

Friday - Presenting the Flag to Honor Flight

On Friday afternoon at 5:00 , the families came to the airport and presented their loved ones flag to Honor Flight.

20 Burial Flags were taken. Mr. Gossett's flag was the most recent.

Honor Flight

Scott's dad's burial flag was chosen to be flown to Washington, DC and be presented at the WWII Memorial this weekend. Here is the website http://www.honorflight.net/honorflags.html There will be pictures/video of the flight soon, but I'll give you a glimpse of our very memorable weekend.

Wow, What a Weekend!

It began on Friday morning. We went to a "Birds of Prey" presentation at Botanical Garden. The boys were so good and seemed to enjoy it.

This is funny-see the black vulture? Right after this picture the bird handler moved right behind us. John David was standing between Emily and Gigi. The vulture flew up and landed on her arm, but it just brushed on top of John David. He became a little afraid, but quickly went down and sat in Papa's lap (picture below)

They had a Scarecrow Trail. The one below reminded John David and I of his mommy - Truly Emily is "Wonder Mom"!

Papa "ran" the boys through the sprinkler. I'll try to post more weekend pictures soon - it was quite memorable for us.
